The photographs showing a very happy John Lennon in a Triumph Herald convertible can be found all over the internet, indeed the series of photos also include the ‘Fab Four’ also in the photographs. It was to celebrate Lennon passing his test, with many sources attributing the car as Lennons – however it wasn’t Lennon’s car – it was the ‘fifth Beatle’, George Martin.
The Lennon photos are said to be February 18, 1965.
This fantastic new photo has emerged showing the car at an earlier date, complete with the owner – and, most importantly, the numberplate. 485WAR.
The car is a 1200 and would have been registered in Hertfordshire.
